St Margarets (and St Helens!) Church and Community Centre –
About a dozen people walked from St Margarets for the annual St Helens Festival Service at the end of July at which nearly 50 people were present.  Thanks to all involved and those who provided and served the refreshments.
Please check centre pages for details of church services during September.  Services are back to normal  after the holiday season.  The monthly benefice breakfast service will be at 10.00 at St Margarets on Sunday 24 September.  All are welcome to come and have breakfast (bacon baps, croissants, tea and coffee), a family service and discussion.  Please ring Margaret Davis on 550703, Anna on 540610 or Richard on 541522 if you want more information or to ask any questions.

Jumble Sale – don’t forget – the annual Jumble Sale will take place at 2.00 pm on Saturday 9 September.  Please call Anna on 540610 if you have jumble to collect and if you want to help sort and sell on the day – and come along to the sale itself.  As well as a wide range of ‘previously loved’ items, there will be tea and home-made cakes.

Wicken Ladies – Jenny Burgess writes ‘The next full meeting will be in the Community Centre at 7.30 pm on Thursday 21 September when we hope to ‘have a go at pottery’.  This is yet to be confirmed, but please put the date in your diary as we will meet then even if the pottery has to be postponed until later in the year.  Wicken Ladies Golf have met during the summer and played a very enjoyable (and sociable!) 18 holes at Saffron Walden Golf Course.  There is talk of a challenge match from Wicken men so watch this space for news of this event if and when it happens!  If any ladies feel they would like to give golf a try, then please get in touch and we may be able to organise another taster session.  Several visits are in the pipeline, along with a film night and other ideas for activities and entertainments later this year and into 2018.  As always, everyone is welcome to any of our events’.  For more info, please email Jenny on jennyburgess926@btinternet.com or Tanya on tanyapatience@gmail.com.
